Christian Cantrell–The Best Sci-Fi Author You’ve Never Heard Of
Recently, due to budgetary constraints, I have been spending a lot of time perusing the plethora of 99 cent self-published books in the Amazon Kindle store. Sadly, I’ve discovered that most of them aren’t worth the money. I was quite pleased to discover one exception to this rule: anything written by Christian Cantrell. To date, he has written one novel, Containment, and a number of shorter stories/novellas. He writes extremely well, and the plots that he weaves are both gripping and well-conceived. Unlike many sci-fi authors that I’ve read, Christian Cantrell clearly understands the science (or, at least, the existing scientific knowledge) behind the technology that he uses in his books. I would, without hesitation, recommend his work to anyone who enjoys science-fiction, philosophy, dystopia stories, and novels that examine the human condition. Even if you don’t fit into one of the afore-mentioned categories, it’s worth at least giving one of his shorter stories a look. After all, at 99 cents, it’s quite a bargain, and will almost assuredly be more well-written than many books I’ve read that cost more than ten times that amount.
