Foods That Help Your Skin

Using natural foods as different skin care products is a trick of the trade.  Almost all natural ingredients can be beneficial to your skin but you have to know how to use them.  You actually don’t have to put them on your face.  You can eat these natural foods and that is how they are able to help improve your skin.  Dr. Colbert gave advice on what foods to eat and how to eat them in InStyle magazine.  She gave great tips and now we are going to share them with you.

Here are the foods you should eat, how your skin will benefit from them, and how you should consume them.

All of the anti-oxidants will prevent free-radical damage to your skin.  All you need to do is add a little bit of something sweet to it (Splenda, honey, etc.) and you have got yourself a snack!

Kale

All of the fiber in Kale is detoxifying which makes the skin a lot clearer.  A great way to eat Kale (and any vegetable) is to steam it.  Add some salt and pepper and you’ve got a skin-clearing salad!

There are omega fatty acids in almonds that will reduce inflammation.  There are several different kinds of almonds to choose from.  Pick any kind up at the store and eat one serving a day.

Olive Oil

You probably didn’t think that oil would help the skin, right?  Monounsaturated fat is found in olive oil.  This type of fat will actually help to balance the skin’s moisture instead of making your face too oily or leaving it dry.  If you use butter, try switching it out with olive oil when you cook.

Greek Yogurt

There is a lot of calcium jam packed in Greek yogurt.  You can eat yogurt with fruit in it or maybe make some sort of dip out of it.
